Lush green trees, calmness in the water and clear blue skies .. Now this is exactly what one would be looking for when looking for serenity !

A beautiful image shot at the lake 3 streets down from my house. Perfect day and perfect setting to shoot my ‘photo of the day’.
I had to shoot this amazing moment in the lake, which seemed like a mother was out for a walk with a bunch of her naughty kids. While she calmly cruised along in the water, the other little ducks were chasing each other. It might not be a perfect analogy but not a huge difference in us humans and animals, eh ! Look deeper, yes its seems like a ‘mum & the kids at the lake’ portrait.

“Who says beauty can be judged by colour”. Looking at this picture, it proves that beauty can also be found in B&W. We are fortunate to have colour cameras today, otherwise people used to marvel at B&W pictures in the olden days. So, whether colour or B&W, ‘Beautiful will always remain beautiful’

A great combination of ‘nature’ and ‘technology’ can be found here in this image. A beautiful rainbow rising behind power lines in the middle of the afternoon makes up for the ‘picture of the day’. Go Nature, Go Tech !
I love the man that can smile in trouble, that can gather strength from de-stress, and grow brave by reflections-Thomas Paine
This quote says it all about reflections. It is important to acknowledge the effect of reflections around us and learn from them. Reflections like everything in one’s life is not permanent. Make the most of it.
P.S. Love the reflections of cloud in the water.

This is an interesting picture of an idea gone wrong. The idea of operating the highest roller coaster (more like a mini-roller coaster) did not work as well as it was planned. This ride if still in operation would have given you an exciting ride and taken you to a point where you could possible see the amazing views of the whole city of Al Ain. Oh well, there is only a slim chance looking at the way it is that this project will ever be reinstated. People visiting Jebel Hafeet and the site of this closed small amusement park can now look at it and say “once upon a ride”.
Scotland is not one of those countries which are regularly in news. Its a quiet, peaceful beautiful country famous for a thing a two. Without doubt, one of those things is its ‘art of making scotch’. im not a big scotch drinker, but I have heard of those who are that ‘you ain;t drinking scotch till its scottish’. Going by their word, I thought I would pay tribute to the best scotch on my site. As a matter of fact, i shall have a drink to that tonight. I guess if it has been praised, it sure would be worth a shot (literally). To the ‘Scottish Gem’, Cheers !
Most of us standing at the shores, might call sailor in a lone boat in a middle of the ocean ‘MAD’, but the sailor sitting in his boat definitely calls us ‘CRAZY’ for not ever trying sailing a boat in the middle of the ocean by yourself.
Simple Equation: A lone sailor loves a boat. A lone boat loves a sailor.

After posting the picture of the ‘Mitsubishi VR-X’, it is time to place an image of out other car ‘Subaru Impreza’ . A great engine coupled with impressive styling, makes it a treat to take this car out for a drive. I really like this shot as it highlights the flagship brand of Subaru and the dirt feel around the badge gives the car a rough and sturdy feel. A picture of the full car is very much due and will be posted later in time. Till then, drive you car as Subaru says ‘Think. Feel. Drive’ – The best way to enjoy your car. !
In today’s fast pace life, it is quite easy not to look at the big picture. Nothing should super seed the major ’3 pillars of our life’ namely ‘Hope, Peace and Faith’, coz if you dont have these in your life, you ain’t got nothing. These are the foundations of a happy life and they make you stay strong, not matter how difficult a situation might be. Believe in it, its a simple yet effective way of life.

Sometimes you dont have to travel too far to click your ‘shot of the day’. I had just stepped out of the house for a casual walk for a few minutes and walked past my neighbour’s open garden. I particularly like this photo and mainly for its ‘raining sand’ effect. Though I shot the picture, I will have to credit my uber-talented wife for adding the sand effect to the image. Following on yesterday’s theme of Indian Art. Here is another classic example of displaying Indian cultural art in the form of Ganesha. Basically, in extremely poor houses who cannot afford to buy statues of their god, they create the image of god using items which are considered ‘religious and pious’. Its true when they say that you can find god in anything if you really wish to.

Art has always been a major part of our culture. Though, Indian Art dates back to the 2nd Century (for e.g. Indus Valley Art), it is the medieval art (10th-13th Century) which mainly describes the life and culture of ancient India. Temples and structures such great stone work depicting stories and life can be found all over India.
India has always produced amazingly creative artisans and sculpture artists throughout centuries. Unfortunately, in today’s commercial world, the Indian Art is no where close to be in an appreciable spot. The world does not care about simple artisans and their work, and even bargain on an painting or sculpture that might barely cost them Rps. 50 anyway. Lets buy and support our Indian Art. Its too exotic to go wasted.

In short, a lighthouse can be defined as a structure to show way to safety.
Can God be considered the lighthouse of our lives?
When lost or unable to find our way to shore, God sheds a light and shows us an opportunity to safety. If not god itself, it sends a person in our lives to do the same. We all will find one or more lighthouses in our lives, if we look and think deeper about it.

Before Dubai embarked on the glitzy-skyscraper-western look, this Arab nation was known for its simplicity. Arabs has always led simple, non-glitzy lives and the prime example are their homes. This shot was taken in Dubai (Souk Al Madinat) which is a shopping centre based on the early living of the Arabs. Owning a boat can easily be bracketed under a ‘luxury item’. While we usually associate owning a boat with rich businessmen or millionaires, we forget that boating is also a ‘passion’ for a lot of people. It is also great to see that people sacrifice a lot to fuel this passion of theirs. The ones passionate about sailing on the sea, regard owning a boat more than purchasing a family house or a flashy car. So, its not a question of ‘luxury or passion’, but more like ‘luxury & passion’ when it comes to thinking of owning a boat !

This image is of the inside view of this opulent 6-star hotel. After having an amazing high tea on the top floor of the hotel, we took our sweet time to venture out the hotel. It was a great experience and did not feel like the place at all.
Everything is so perfect about the interior of the hotel. The colors used are so rich and perfect for the decor.
They have also managed to stick to the middle eastern style and theme. The best part of this place that they try avoid as much artificial light during the day and as outside of the hotel is glass based, the hotel just lights up with all the sunlight giving the best possible effect to the interior. The Sheikhs have pumped in lots of money to create this landmark and in my eyes its worth every dirham !

‘Jaikara Sheran wali Da, Bol sache darbar ki Jai’
The concept of Supreme mother Goddess is very old in India. The divine mother has been worshipped as ‘Shakti’ since vedic times and this worship was not only confined to India, Egyptians and Greeks also practised the worship of mother Goddess in one form or the other. Vibrant and unbounded compassion and bountiful mercy were regarded as the divine attributes of Goddess mother. Devotees found God incarnate through mother benign and merciful. The relation of child and mother cut across all barriers and refuge under the feet of the mother gave peace and solace. With divine mother, devotees gave up formal worship and felt her presence all around them. The child soul of this humanity readily turns to the mother soul in all situations of life. Shri Aurbindo points out how mother is always ready with bounty for her children. No wonder she is lauded in every possible way over the length and breadth of India. The heart of religionists, artists, poets, mystics infact, everyone melts when they speak of her. The being flows spontaneously when one comes to adore her and to celebrate her glory.
